David Odlum - guitar
David Odlum's musical career began modestly, busking on the streets of Dublin before joining band Kila which was made up of other buskers including Colm Mac Con Iomaire who would later join forces with David again.Whilst playing with Kila David built up his experience of playing in the city's live venues then he left them to pursue further with Colm and fellow busker Glen Hansard, here was the start of now legendary Irish band The Frames.
Says  David : "There was about 20 of us who always busked. We had always traded off in each others bands. There was always a sense of camaraderie." Odlum says it was because of their tight-knit circle of friends that they were able to raise money to make their own record. They enlisted ex-Boomtown Rat Pete Briquette to produce. "It was done on a shoestring budget." But it was the bands resourcefulness that led to the group being recognized by legendary producer Trevor Horn, and others. MTV Europe video award nominations for the song 'Revelate' followed and their albums gained great critical acclaim in Ireland. The Frames live reputation grew and David  co-produced their  albums 'Dance the Devil' & 'For the Birds' , the latter with Steve Albini and Craig Ward. He left The Frames soon after to  produce and engineer for other bands and artists.
He lent his guitar talents to his good friend Mic Christopher for his 'Heyday' E.P and more recently co-produced, engineered and played on both Gemma Hayes' and Nina Hynes' debut albums as well as co-producing the Frames' new album.
