| Sunday 14th December 2003 Hey there Anybody make it to Dingle? It was a great night although it took me till halfway through my set before I could relax. We had a sing song afterwards which never fails to warm the cockles of my heart. Theres just something about having a glass of hot port whilst listening to Glen Hansard doing a rendition of aTim Buckley song or Paul Noonan singing Justin Timberlake accompanied by a banjo! Holy cow just heard on the radio that they caught Saddam. Anyway I dunno why it's taken me so long to write something or why I chose now. This has been thefirst time in years that I have had such a long period of downtime, it makesme feel disconnected in a way from everyone I have got to know through music in the past two years. I don't think it's a bad thing I think it's just a natural part of the process. It's still weird though! I've been in Kerry alot writing songs, as usual they are all over the place..some are acoustic, some are piano, some are rock orientated and some are just plain odd. My record label is pulling it's hair out as I don't make it easy for them...apparently! It's been great fun though and I can't wait for you all to hear them. Anybody know anyone from Portland Oregon? If so please let me know as I will be there in January mucking about in a studio and would love to hang out with some locals* The last time I was in Portland I played in a strip club ( didn't know till I walked in to the place). It was crazy and very...dimly lit. It's difficult as a woman to play music that means something to you on a stage wheremost nights of the week women ( of their own free will) are objectified. It was great fun though and some people really got into it which was cool. Christmas is just about here and I can't wait to stuff my belly full of mince pies and freak myself out watching 'Willy Wonka' and 'Chitty Chitty Bang Bang'....ahh maybe I'm giving too much away here!! Seriously, have a great Christmas and please be safe. I'll see you all in January love Gemmax * If you're from Portland then let Gemma know via our Forum page |
